Charlie Bishop's hand made soaps are made from plant-derived base oils and special ingredients, such as herbs, suited to skin care needs. These super fatted soaps are cold processed vegetable soaps with lots of unsaturated oils. The process Charlie uses results in soap bars that contain more glycerin and moisturizing oils than many store bought soaps contain.

Many store bought soaps contain lots of synthetic chemicals. For example, some large soap manufacturers use chemicals to extract oil from pumice instead of using, say, purely extracted olive oil. This process costs such manufacturers less money, but consumers wind up with more chemicals in their soaps. Liquid soaps, though convenient, contain even more chemicals (these extra chemicals are necessary to create a usable liquid form). Many people don’t realize that their skin problems may have been caused or worsened by store bought soaps - until they begin using natural, synthetic chemical-free, homemade soaps.

Many store bought soaps still contain animal products or by-products and are animal-tested. Charlie’s soaps contain no animal-based ingredients and are tested only on his friends and acquaintances (and they love the soaps!)

Charlie’s Delight Oils: coconut, hemp, olive, palm

Hair Care Bar Oils: avocado, castor, coconut, jojoba, palm wheat germ, Cocoa butter, Shea butter

Rich Conditioning Lather

Hazel Loves It Oils: avocado, coconut, hazelnut, palm, sweet almond, wheat germ, cocoa butter

Hazelnut oil is the secret - penetrates, nourishes, stimulates skin

Olive ‘s Oil Oils: olive, coconut, palm

Known for pulling moisture from the air and holding it on your skin

Sunflower Oil

Sunflower oil has large amounts of essential fatty acids as well as a high amount of Vitamin E. As one of the more cost effective oils, it is a good oil to blend with other base oils in massage or perfume bases. This oil does tend to leave a more oily feeling on the skin.

Exfoliants

Charlie’s soaps contain various exfoliates that are helpful to your skin. These include blueberry seeds, apricot seeds, poppy seeds. We also incorporate flower blossoms, calendula, Lavender, and Rose.

Charles Alan Bishop passed away on July 4, 2011, but our special memories of him will last forever...  We have some of Charlie's original inventory which we offer here.  His son, Justin, will soon be producing a new line which we will bring to you in the near future.
