THURSDAY, APRIL 18
FRIDAY, APRIL 19

Get to be thoroughly entertained during an amusing, historic account of contact between the Apalachee and Spaniards.  Learn about Panfilo de Narvaez and his disastrous expedition to Florida in 1527. Hear about Hernando DeSoto and how he later followed an almost identical route to this area. Picture yourself in the middle of the Apalachee coastal territory as you cruise the olden shoreline of St. Marks.  Historic cruise leaves from the public boat ramp by the fort every hour beginning at 11:30 AM. To ensure your spot on the boat, pre-registration is highly suggested. $10 per passenger, groups up to 18. Click on date link above for advance registration.

Your tour on the St. Marks and Wakulla rivers can be enhanced with the optional tour of Fort San Marcos de Apalache (see separate listing) and an on-land presentation with archaeologists and historians. Rediscover the Spanish conquistadors who arrived in the fertile and fabled land of the Apalachee in 1528.
